KLAASEN is happy to announce our latest completed Alila project in the Maldives. Alila Kothaifaru Maldives opened its doors on the Raa Atoll, accessible by a 45-minute ride via seaplane from Malé. This is an all-pool-villas resort featuring 44 beach villas and 36 water villas perched overwater.
The resort is designed by Singapore-based Studiogoto with nature in mind, featuring minimalist architecture using series of terraces to conceal building profiles, and also features a treetop spa designed to blend into the heart of the island and offer views onto greenery while enjoying spa treatments. KLAASEN worked closely with Studiogoto to provide lighting that reflects the architectural language while providing layers as needed for hospitality. The lighting for the rooms allows the guest to switch from bright activity mode to Relax mood easily. The public areas are all programmed to dim according to the time of the day so the guests can enjoy the spaces in the right lighting all day long.
