Martin is the founder and principal of the company that was rebranded as Klaasen Lighting Design in 2011 and now simply Klaasen. Many of his designs have received national and international lighting design awards. His expertise and experience spans all applications with projects around the globe. Martin is also passionate about sharing his knowledge through various media on his Light Talk platform, including interviews, blogs and vlogs, articles and his books. Light Talk enjoys a worldwide group of followers.
Amanda has a bachelor degree in Design (Product Design) from the Curtin University of Technology Australia. She joined Martin Klaasen and his team at Lighting Images in 2007. Over the years Amanda has gradually gained her experience in lighting design and project management through the many projects she has been involved with. Her dedicated commitment, diligent approach to work and attention to details has been appreciated by her colleagues, her clients and other project consultants.
Her expertise includes a variety of applications such as residential, commercial and hospitality projects. She has been involved a large number of high end hotel projects such as Intercontinental, Hyatt, Anantara, Angsana, Raffles, Sheraton and Marriot Hotels and has travelled to project sites to coordinate the lighting implementation with the client and site team.
Cheryline graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, National University of Singapore. Prior to joining the lighting industry in 2007, Cheryline was a design manager leading a team of designers and animators at OASE Asia Pacific, the international design center of a renowned German water fountains manufacturer.
On joining Lighting Images, starting her career as a lighting designer and project manager, she honed her skills under Martin Klaasen working on a variety of projects, such as residential, commercial and hospitality projects.
Cheryline’s expertise covers most lighting applications from interior spaces to exterior landscape and façade lighting. Her expertise is highly appreciated at KLAASEN as she continues to be involved in designing the lighting for the world’s leading hotel chains such as Hyatt and Shangri-La.
Jordan has been with Klaasen for 5 years, beginning his career in Lighting Design from the Singapore office where he was mentored by Martin and the Singapore team on all aspects of Lighting Design. During this time he also completed his Master’s Degree in Architectural Lighting and Design Management from HS Wismar. Since then, Jordan has relocated to Lisbon, Portugal, where he heads up the latest KLD office, managing projects in Europe and the Middle East. With a background in Landscape Architecture, Jordan has been involved in private and public projects in North America, Asia, the Middle East and now Europe.
Aishah is a graduate from Temasek Polytechnic, School of Design, majoring in Environment Design. During her school days she was exposed to various landscape and public design fundamentals, one of her works includes the recreation of a public space at Raffles Place Park for her final major assignment. Starting her career as a junior lighting designer, then assisting her senior designers in various commercial and residential projects, now Aishah continues to progress and contribute to the team as senior lighting designer.
Anggi is a graduate from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta Indonesia, majoring in Engineering Architecture. In 2014, she interned at KLAASEN Jakarta Office as part of an Internship Program. Since graduating, Anggi continued to pursue a career in lighting design after brief roles in architecture and property development. Now she assists the KLAASEN Singapore team on various projects.
Ririe Ardiningrum is a graduate from Universitas of Indonesia, Jakarta Indonesia, majoring in Interior Architecture. She expanded into all aspects of lighting design previously assisting the Klaasen Jakarta team between 2014-2016, designing lighting concepts for commercial, residential, and offices. Ririe joins us in Singapore where she continues to support our Asian projects.
Delfira is responsible for administration and accounts related issues for the KLAASEN team. She handles office documentation, human resources as well as project contracts, invoicing and other various duties.
Ingmar has a BA (hons) degree in urban and regional planning and has worked in several planning roles in Perth, Western Australia. These roles have given him experience in managing, coordinating and facilitating a variety of different projects, which he has brought into his role since joining KLAASEN in 2017. Promoting KLAASEN’s services in a multi-role capacity, he has been in charge of business development for the Perth team, social media management, assisted in project management and now associate director. Ingmar is an advocator of innovative & collaborative approaches to the future of lighting design (Lighting Design of Things) and is actively involved with the development of the Virtual Lighting Design Community.
Galih is an architect by profession and practiced in Indonesia before going to Germany where he obtained his master’s degree of architectural lighting design from Hoch Schule in Wismar. Before joining Klaasen, Galih worked as a lighting designer in Japan (Reiko Chikada Lighting Design, Tokyo) and as a freelance lighting designer in Germany. Galih has put his expert skills in creative lighting design, lighting visualizations and calculations to good use and is the lead designer and project manager for many of the companies projects. Since 2011 Galih heads KLAASEN’s office and design team in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Ferdy achieved his bachelor degree from Gadjah Mada University, majoring in Architecture Engineering. In 2018, he got his master degree in architectural lighting design from HS Wismar, Germany. When in Germany, he had an internship with Kardorff Ingenieure Lichtplanung, lighting design consultant based in Berlin. He joined KLAASEN Jakarta in 2014 until 2016 and had a study break for his master degree. In 2019 he rejoined the team working on several masterplanning, commercial and residential projects.
Wulan graduated from Universitas Indonesia, majoring in Interior Architecture. During her school days she was exposed to various interior design, furniture, adaptive reuse, acoustic and architectural lighting. At KLAASEN, she has been involved a variety of projects ranging from the Jakarta Citi Plan Office, Gunadarma University, Q-Big Retail Center, Pullman Hotel and Resort Mandalika, The Lana Apartments and more.
Andy is a professional lighting designer and has been with the Klaasen team for more than 11 years. He brings a lot of local practical experience in lighting design and project management to the team. His expertise spans all applications from projects in hospitality, commercial, residential, corporate and integrated architectural lighting to landscape lighting and lighting planning, where he applies his knowledge in lighting technology, light fitting application skills and site programming to achieve a successful outcome for his clients. Andy heads KLAASEN’s office and design team in Shanghai, China.
